Hardwick Baptist Church began as a mission in 1910 in the community known then as Midway, just south of the City of Milledgeville The Midway Baptist Mission was constituted as Midway Baptist Church in 1912. In 1914, the congregation constructed its first meeting house with volunteer help. The church was received into the Washington Baptist Association in 1917. The name of the Midway Baptist Church was changed to Hardwick Baptist Church in 1939. The present structure was dedicated in 1950. With continued growth the Hardwick Baptist Sunday School eventually used five separate buildings at its present site until a new educational wing was added to the same structure in 1970. Through the years, faces and ministries change, but the commitment has remained strong. Our ministry starts here in Hardwick and reaches to wherever there are people who need the good news of the Gospel.
